Wow - what a busy week Kingfishers have had!
The title of this week’s blog links to our learning in RE. We discussed last week what New Year is and how we celebrate it. This week we discussed how people in the Jewish faith celebrate New Year and compared it to our celebrations. In order to show our understanding we created cards to represent the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. Here are some of our cards:
Our busy week continued in Maths, Reading and Science, and we explored some new learning.
In Maths we explored exchanging 1 ten for 10 ones when you are subtracting and there is not enough ones in the one column. Here’s an example of one of our subtractions:
I know I can’t subtract 5 away from 2. I exchanged 1 ten for 10 ones so I could subtract 5 away from 12.
During our reading time this week, we tried paired reading. We chose a chapter book with our partner, and enjoyed reading and discussing the story of our choice.
In Science, we learnt, questioned and investigated the different parts of a common flowering plant and their purpose.
