Reading note for parents: Your child should have a reading record book that they can fill in each night after their reading. Each day children should fill in the comments box using one of their VIPERS skills (see sheet inside their reading record).  

Spellings: Red Kites learning spellings by using a strategy called precision teaching. They each have a set of words that they need to practise. Although we have a group of words each week to learn at school, it is important for us to learn and practise all of our spellings regularly at home. Below you will find the list of the Year 5 and 6 words we need to know in order to meet expectations. Although the Year 5 and 6 words are important, it’s also important to remember previous learning so we have including some of the Year 3 and 4 words so keep practicing these too.

Maths: Below you will find the KIRFS for this term.

Red Kites Kit List:

Please make sure your child has the following items with them in school for the needed days:

Monday - Come into school with spelling words and completed reading record, trainers (to change into) and a spare pair of socks.

Tuesday - Spelling words and completed reading record, trainers (to change into) and a spare pair of socks.

Wednesday - Spelling words and completed reading record, trainers (to change into) and a spare pair of socks.

Thursday - Come into school dressed in P.E. Kit, Spelling words and completed reading record, trainers (to change into) and a spare pair of socks.

Friday - Come into school with Forest School kit (Year 5 Term 5 and Year 6 Term 6), Spelling words and completed reading record, trainers (to change into) and a spare pair of socks.
