RAF WELFORD
On Wednesday as part of our history topic learning about WW2, we visited RAF Welford where we had a expertly led tour of the site and museum and gained more knowledge on the important work that was carried out at this United States Army Air Force Base 474. We we extremely fortunate to meet a 93 year old gentleman who served with distinction with the Royal Air Force for many years. The children showed great enthusiasm in learning about how their local area played such an integral part in the war and the D-Day landings. It was commented on how well-behaved and how the members of the team who led us round were impressed with the children’s desire to know more about the history of this military base.
MUSIC CONCERT
Some members of Red Kites volunteered to play at Brightwalton church for the music festival celebrated by both schools. Great determination to prepare for this has been shown and we are really proud of the children who chose to perform. Beautifully talented singers, a team of trumpeters, and jamming on the guitars! Well done!
