1 Week to go!

It’s been another busy week as we race to the end of the school year. Sports day, transition day, summer reading challenge, and the PTA are currently preparing for the Leaver’s ball!

We have been reminded of what a kind and compassionate group we have through some special moments this week particularly at Sports Day where Red Kites set an excellent example supporting one another and the younger children throughout the school. For Transition day, year 6’s lead a talk to our new 5’s and 6’s where they shared top tips and their reflections!

Mrs Hunter kindly brought in her gramaphone. We listened to music and talked about how important music was during WW2.

At Forest School, we had a fire building challenge. The children showed great endurance as it was a tricky task! Thank you to Mrs Liddiard who has supported us at Forest School.

Unfortunately, rain stopped play for our Pilgrimage today however the children made the most of this seeing it as an opportunity and requested to do their final ‘free write’ of the year. We used a World War 2 Stimulus. The children put so much effort into their writing today. I am so proud of the progress they have made but also how they write with such awareness of the reader. Here is an example of an outstanding piece.

Wishing you all a restful weekend before the final week of term!
