HAPPY NEW YEAR
Welcome back, we hope you have all had a great festive break. The children have come back to school with a real eagerness to learn and improve, it’s been a great first few days back. We have changed our timetable slightly so we are starting our days with a new morning challenge - each day has a ‘word of the day’. This week we have looked at; empathy, hope and uplift - from this we have worked on our spellings including altering the suffix for the word of the day. Why not ask the children what their word of the day today is?!
The children have put their all into division this week, working on their skills and applying them to problems. Some of us really do need to practice times tables - this will help! Next week, we will tackle long division.
In English, we have started our new text ‘Skellig’. What is this creature in the garage? We are focusing on formal writing skills so have been working on our ‘estate agent speak’ when selling houses! Look out for our advertisements next week!
Red Kites have definitely enjoyed being back together - at break and lunch times it is always a pleasure to see them playing so creatively! In PE this week, we had an intense game of bench ball! Our Friday PE sessions this term are ‘tag rugby’. Today the sun came out for us - exercising in the fresh air put great big smiles on everyone’s face.
